The word ‘makeshift’ often refers to items created as a temporary solution to a problem, a placeholder until a better solution can be produced.
What’s missing from this idea is the creative nature of those first attempts at finding a way to solve a need. Conventional methods and materials may not be available and you’ve got to improvise; find new ways to get from A to B with what you’ve got in front of you. Adapt. Create. It’s in this spirit that I began Makeshift, Inc.
